1938 Alumni Reunion Lunch

Head of College, Dr Jennifer McDonald hosted College alumni from 1938 along with their guests at a special lunch in the Heritage Room on Friday 9 November.

Lesley Falloon OAM (UWC 1938) and Sue Freadman (UWC 1938) were accompanied by family and friends where they shared memories of their time at University Women's College, having both made the move from the western districts of Victoria following high school.

Sue brought with her a video of her wedding in 1944 where she was getting ready on the Ellis Wing balcony at College, prior to being married in St Kilda. The video footage included shots of then Head of College, Greta Hort as well as many of her College friends and family.

2019 President of the University College Student Club, Erica Roche and Vice-President, Lala Grogan joined the lunch to share more insight into the College today.

"Sue and I used to go home on the train together as I was on the farm in Rupanyup and Sue was in Horsham. We just felt so lucky to have our own College just for the women - it was, and still is, a very special place."
