Meet your 2024 Student Club President
Where are you from and what are you studying?
I am from Sydney, Australia and am in my second year at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology studying a Bachelor of Regional and Urban Planning.
What do you love about UC?
The people. From the very first day at UC you are instantly welcomed into your O-week group with a range of people from different backgrounds all seeking the same thing as you, to meet more people! The energy and vibrance of move-in Saturday is something I can’t wait to experience again as it marks the start of a range of activities and experiences which allow you to get involved and meet everyone. If you told me one year ago, I’d have a close friend from Munich, play social netball with New Zealanders and perform in our college musical with a girl from Wagga Wagga, I wouldn’t have believed you. The people are absolutely the charm of UC.
What's your favourite memory of UC so far?
My favourite memory of UC has to be rowing day. Waking up to the symphonies of row row row your boat flooding through the corridors, the sun shining as a swarm of maroon and blue jerseys made their way down to the Yarra River to get around our rowers!! We chanted and cheered for our amazing rowers down the river and all the way back to college crescent. I had the best day hanging out with all the people I love and cannot wait to do it all again this year.
We are very excited to introduce Antoinette (Ant) Boxall as your new 2024 Student Club President. We thought you might like to get to know Ant better so here's your chance...

What do you hope to achieve this year as the Student Club President?
This year I’m striving to create an environment by which everyone can call UC a home away from home. Whether its lying in the sun in the academic courtyard with friends, sitting at the picnic benches for dinner or having a wholesome movie night, UC in itself is a relaxed environment where everyone is accepted and can be who they want to be. Moving away from the comfort of home can come with its challenges, but I am absolutely here to support all of you and am just a chat away!
What's your best wellbeing tip?
My best wellbeing tip would be to take all the time you need for yourself. University can feel overwhelming at times and it’s so important to be able to check in and continue doing the things that make you feel good. I personally love a walk around Princes Park and it’s right across the road from us.

What’s something you’re passionate about?
One thing I am especially passionate about is Sustainability. During school I remember learning about Melbourne’s move to renewable energy and green infrastructure and knew I had to study in the place where environmentally-sensitive design is at the forefront of city planning.
Early bird or night owl?
100% a night owl - you will not catch me out and about until midday.
Instagram or TikTok?
Easily Instagram. I love, love, love seeing what everyone gets up to. The college TikTok is definitely worth a stalk though.
Favourite snack?
All time go-to has to be peanut butter, banana and honey toast. Thanks for that one mum.
