UC Leadership Dinner with Gillian Triggs
UC Leadership Dinner with Gillian Triggs
Head of College, Dr Jennifer McDonald hosted Professor Emerita Gillian Triggs at the inaugural UC Leadership Dinner in Syme Dining Hall on Thursday 20 September.
As part of a new scholarship established by former Head of College, Dr Angela Milne, student scholarship recipients Bridget Hawkins and Kashmira Mohamed-Zagor organised the dinner for students who had taken on leadership positions within the College or had nominated for them as well as members of the College Community.
"Leadership is not about recognition, it's not about honours, it's not about status or position; Leadership is about leading in the context in which in you are and taking responsibility for what you do."
- Professor Emerita Gillian Triggs
150 members of the College Community joined in the evening which explored the notions of leadership without a title and the first follower form of leadership as well as reshaping the way we think about gender inequality and how this influences our perceptions of leadership.
