Ellis Rooms

The Ellis wing, originally called the ‘South Wing’, was named after Dr. Constance Ellis. It was the first wing of the College, opening in 1937. Dr. Ellis was the first woman to earn a Doctor of Medicine degree in Melbourne. Dr. Ellis was also an active member of the Provisional Committee for our College, all while having a full and varied career as a physician and pathologist at the Queen Victoria Hospital.

The Ellis Wing rooms have hardwood flooring and a north-facing aspect, overlooking the spacious and colourful Giblin Courtyard.

Each level of the Ellis Wing has a shared bathroom, a kitchenette (equipped with sink, fridge, kettle and microwave).

All Ellis rooms have a double bed (four rooms with single/king single beds), mattress/mattress protector, two pillows, desk/chair, bedside table, lamp, fan, bin, blinds (rooms on the ground floor also have a privacy blind), wardrobe with hanging space, shelving and full length mirror and some rooms feature extra storage in the form of shelving and bookcases.
