Leitch Ensuite Rooms
In 1960, UC opened a new hall named after Sir Walter and Lady Leitch, who contributed £20,000 towards its construction. In 2001, the Leitch Academic Centre (as it’s now known) underwent a redevelopment, which included additional tutorial rooms, a lounge, and a floor of ensuite residential rooms. This area also contains our library, music rooms and music production studio.
The Leitch rooms have a large ensuite and floor plan, are carpeted and have an east, south and west facing aspect, with large windows to make use of the natural light. The east facing rooms overlook the beautiful McEwan Courtyard and capture the morning sun, with the west facing rooms overlooking Royal Parade, attracting the afternoon sunshine.
The Leitch Wing has a kitchenette (equipped with sink, fridge, kettle and microwave). It also has a laundry with a washer, dryer, iron and ironing board. These are some of the largest rooms at UC, and are therefore generally reserved for returning students.
All Leitch rooms have a double bed, mattress/mattress protector, two pillows, desk/chair, bedside table/drawers, lamp, fan, blinds, bin, large wardrobe with hanging space and shelving, full-length mirror, large ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet and vanity and split system air conditioning/heating.
